'Brooke + Nick' are a husband/wife duo based on Ocracoke Island, who's music offers a truly unique and fresh sound. 

Their set is a dynamic fusion of folk/rock with an edgy twist of roots revival. Brooke plays cello, almost bridging bass & violin in style, as she harmonizes alongside Nick’s spirited voice and bigger-than-life baritone uke & foot percussion. Their tunage is captivating, filled with heartfelt harmonies that easily pull any listener in. 

They play both covers and originals, making any familiar tune their own.  Nick’s hallowed originals offer a special experience as his customized foot percussion almost generates the heartbeat of each song, while Brooke holds ground playing bass & soloing on the sweet end. 

They both hail from a musical background, Nick grew up playing mandolin with a folk inspired youth while Brooke grew up on the other side of things: trained as a classic pianist and a choir singer from a young age. 

Even thought they met in 2010, it wasn’t until summer of 2016 that they started playing together weekly at the Ocrafolk Opry before they quickly budded into, 'Brooke + Nick'.

Since then, they've played extensively across WNC (Asheville was home for many years ) toward the coast at small venues, various listening rooms, worthy establishments, as well as dozens of weddings across the state. 

Their excited to be playing Ocrafolk Festival & Beaufort Music Festival this year, with the intention of finally producing their first EP.
